Sunday's Blessing - 10/25/2026 - Names of God - Beginning of the Creation of God (Jesus)

Sunday's Blessing - 10/25/2026 - Names of God - Beginning of the Creation of God (Jesus)

And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: “The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation.” Revelation 3:14 (ESV)

Each letter to the Seven Churches in Revelation begins with an introduction as to who is speaking. Each message came from Jesus, who is the Head of the Church. The writer was given specific names to use for each church. The message to Laodicea was not very encouraging. It was the last of the seven and ended with an invitation to be restored back into fellowship with Christ.

One of the names used for Jesus is “Beginning of the Creation of God.” This is very appropriate because of the state in which Laodicea is walking. They needed foundational change, and who better to bring it than The Word (preincarnate Jesus), who was there with God, the Father, and God, the Holy Spirit when the worlds were framed. The Creator has the privilege of correcting His creation, to bring it back into the place where it was originally designed to be.

This is what the “Beginning of the Creation of God” had to say to the church at Laodicea:

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. Revelation 3:18 (ESV)

The question becomes, “What is the currency of Heaven?” How can the church “buy” something which is priceless? It has been demonstrated many times throughout scripture that God always responds to faith. The “father of faith”, Abraham, was challenged with, “Go to the land which I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1) Abraham started walking and God was faithful to His promise. If the people of Laodicea would respond with faith, God would empty Heaven to do whatever was necessary to restore them.

This should give you faith to respond to the Lord. Seeing these examples of God’s character and nature reveals how we can trust Him in our times of crisis, because He will always respond. Even when facing circumstances which require foundational change, like Laodicea, we have a God who can change anything to bring us back to where He is. Place your trust in the Beginning of the Creation of God and start your journey back home!

Sunday’s Blessing – 02/01/2026 – Homeostasis

Sunday’s Blessing – 02/01/2026 – Homeostasis

One of my favorite college classes was Biology 101. It was fascinating to learn all the details about life; how it formed, how it was sustained, etc. One of the words that stuck with me through the years was homeostasis. Science tells us this process evolved. I choose to believe it was by design of the Maker. Take a look and decide for yourself.

Homeostasis is the physiological process by which a living organism maintains a stable, constant internal environment despite changing external conditions. It acts as a dynamic equilibrium, constantly regulating variables like temperature, pH, blood sugar, and electrolyte levels to keep them within a narrow, survival-friendly range.

I can’t imagine any of this kind of “adjustments” to a living thing happening accidentally, or even out of necessity (the argument used for evolution). However, I have no problem believing that someone with the ability could design such things. That “someone” is who I call God. Not just a god, but THE God; Jehovah, Adonia, Yahweh, Creator, Father, The Great I AM. With that premise, I can easily see how He formed a brain in humans, and the rest of the animals, which can control everything inside the body down to the tiniest cell, allowing us to live.

I can hear the questions now. “So, why do we get sick?” “Why do people die?” We live in an imperfect world. We were told this in the Garden and reminded of it by Jesus when He said, “In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world.” Sin causes death. Jesus restores life.

The Holy Spirit within the believer is our “homeostasis”. He is constantly working to bring us to a place of peace, joy, and love. He helps keep us clean, refreshed, and guiding us toward the best outcome. When we learn to hear Him, and quickly follow His leading, we will experience God’s best in our life.

Today’s blessing:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 1 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:15-17 (ESV)

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:33-36 (ESV)
